Guided hiking tours

The Trail of the Singing Ghost (Laulavan mörön luontopolku)

The entire Trail of the Singing Ghost comprises some 19 kilometres, whereas the shortest distance from start to end is about 15km. We organise guided trips along different parts of the trail, or we can also hike through the whole trail if you wish.

First, we will take a car from Vonkale to the Syvänlahti school, which is a 10-minute ride. Then, the journey continues on foot…

Kaakkovuori observation tower

The shortest of our guided hikes begins at the old school in Syvänlahti and trails along fields and forest paths to the observation tower on top of the Kaakkovuori hill. The view from the over 170-metre high hill is breathtaking. There is a campfire site on top of the hill where we will stop for lunch.

Towards the end of the route, we will visit the scenic overlook of Laulumäki with a wonderful view of the Ukonselkä part of lake Keitele. Hitonhauta gorge

Hitonhauta is an 800-metre long and 30 to 40-metre wide gorge formed during the Ice Age in the village of Valkola in Laukaa municipality. The rugged walls of the gorge rear up 10 to 20 metres. The terrain in the gorge is partly rough, and the rock and stones may be slippery.

We will take a car from Vonkale to Hitonhauta, located about a 30-minute drive away. The journey will then continue on foot towards the gorge. On our way back, we will stop at a lean-to, grill some sausages over the campfire and have a nice cup of coffee for dessert.

Southern Konnevesi National Park

Located on the border of the regions of Central Finland and Northern Savonia, the Southern Konnevesi National Park was founded in the summer 2014. On the way, you’ll get to enjoy lakeland sceneries, walk on duckboards, admire some steep rocks and see wild rosemary plants, ancient aspens and nests of flying squirrels.
There are three main hiking routes in the park and one short route for people with reduced mobility. Take the lengths of the routes with a grain of salt; in actuality, you’ll often end up walking a few more kilometres than the official length of the route.

Loukkuvuori route

This demanding route includes significant height differences as well as rough terrain with rocks and roots. The route passes along lake scenery and majestic rocks.

We’ll take a car from Vonkale to the Konnevesi National Park, located about a one-hour-drive away. The journey will then continue on foot.

The terrain is rocky, and there are some fairly large gaps in the path. Experience the clear Vuori-Kalaja pond, Kalajanvuori hill and the ancient woods with some giant aspens. There are eight information boards along the route that provide information on the nature and history of the region.
